I utilize both traditional therapeutic methods, as well as evidence-based treatments supported by current research. Studies have repeatedly shown that the single most important factor in predicting successful treatment outcomes is the relationship between therapist and client. My integrative and systems focused approach working with individual client allows me to draw from different therapeutic strategies based on the needs of my clients. I provide a safe, collaborative, non-judgmental environment for my clients to express themselves and feel heard and understood.
Restoration Therapy
Restoration Therapy is a new approach to assessment, treatment and healing in individual, marital and family therapy. It utilizes techniques and theory that help individuals gain clear insight about their identities and perspectives on relationships as well as giving the therapist a cadre of intervention techniques that move individuals into responsible change of persistent and long standing patterns.
Coming from a tradition of Contextual Family Therapy, the Restoration approach provides the therapist with clarity of assessment of individual and relational issues yet utilizes sound mindfulness strategies to produce real and long-lasting systemic change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Emotionally Focused Therapy is a structured approach to couples therapy based on scientific study of adult love and bonding processes in couples, is designed to address distress in the intimate relationships of adults.
Therapists who provide emotionally focused therapy typically work with couples and families to help facilitate the creation of secure, lasting bonds between intimate partners and family members and reinforce any preexisting positive bonds, with the goal of helping those in treatment increase security, closeness, and connection in intimate relationships.
Individual Therapy
Over the course of your lifetime, you will likely encounter periods of significant change that may result in distress. Working with a mental health professional is often beneficial in helping individuals cope and heal from these life events. In therapy, I can help you explore your goals and desires, identify the obstacles or conflicted feelings that may stand in your way, and develop practical skills and strategies to help you better cope with these transitions and improve quality of life.
Couple Therapy
Relationships can be complicated as time can change the way we interact with each other. If you are interested in learning how to resolve conflict in a healthy way, decide to get married, are struggling with infidelity, would like to find your true identity, and restore a sense of safety and control, counseling may help you bring strength back into your relationship.
Family Therapy
Families are where children learn how to survive and thrive in this world. Seeking help with navigating this complex system may improve communication and problem solving skills while decreasing the severity of conflict and arguments within the home. Family therapy is an effective help for those concerns that appear to relate or manifest withing the family of origin. Due to its systematic approach it has been shown to be effective with families, couples, and individuals.
